We put off any non-essential meetings and often find we are more productive than ever. Yet now that anyone and everyone that can work from home is working from home, how do we lead with intention and ‘everyday’ leadership rather than put things off till we’re all back in the office?

Anti-racist and Inclusion Statement

In collaboration with Nancy S, Ahlrichs, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, this is a message from all of us at Progression Partners, LLC.

Our world is forever changed—ultimately for the better. In our lifetime, we have never seen so many people of all races, generations and socio-economic backgrounds united to not only halt police brutality, but to erase the written and unwritten practices, rules and laws that have held back Black and Brown people. The awakening is happening worldwide.

We are called to humbly listen, ask questions, and learn about things that we were not taught in school. We are expected to be proactive, not merely reactive, to seek knowledge and understanding so that we can be part of the solution. As Maya Angelou said, “…when you know better, do better.” We must do better!

Now is the time for all individuals and organizations to stand for true fairness and justice. We must learn to collaborate with others whose backgrounds we do not share. We must recognize the immediate and long-term benefits of differing opinions, experiences, and knowledge being fully heard. We must see how our White Privilege has blinded us to the difficulties of others including the damage our dominant society has wreaked on its non-dominant members, be they women, Black, Brown, LGBTQ, differently able, older, of another national origin or learned a language before learning English.

We cannot wait. Our children are watching us and counting on us to get it right.
